Corrections
A published answer is never edited in place. When the record changes, or when we got something wrong, a new version of the answer is recorded and the previous one is superseded rather than deleted. Both remain retrievable, and a link shared before a correction still resolves to the answer as it stood on the date it was shared, which is why every share link carries the line “resolves to the dated answer, not the page state”.
Corrections are marked as corrections. The record distinguishes an answer that changed because the underlying filing was updated from one that changed because we made an error, and it does not quietly present the second as the first.
Raising a correction
Write to corrections@polylink.us with the claim reference and the record you believe is wrong. A correction that names a specific source and date will always be actioned faster than one that does not.
Response times, right of reply, and who adjudicates a disputed correction are being settled with a media lawyer before they are stated here. Publishing a policy we have not committed to would be a claim without a source, which is not a thing this site is willing to print, including about itself.
